Description
Yeshi Pelden is a Lecturer in the Bachelor of Business Management programme at Gedu College of Business Studies (GCBS), Royal University of Bhutan, where she has taught since 2018. Her teaching focuses on Business Law, Corporate Governance, and Intellectual Property, giving students practical grounding in the legal and regulatory frameworks that shape business and entrepreneurship in Bhutan.
She holds an MBA in Finance from GCBS, a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PgCHE) from Samtse College of Education, and a Certificate in Faculty Development in Pedagogy and Research Methods from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. She recently completed a Certified Intellectual Property (CIP) Certification (2026), extending her expertise in IP law and management alongside her core teaching in business law.
An active researcher, Yeshi has published peer-reviewed work on tax compliance and taxpayer challenges in Bhutan, women's leadership in Royal University of Bhutan colleges, individual work plan challenges among academics, and the interplay between research and teaching at GCBS. She researched tax evasion in Bhutan using list experiment methodology, e-commerce governance and regulation of unlicensed online sellers, and fiscal incentives for sustainable foreign reserves in Bhutan's tourism and manufacturing sectors (publications forthcoming). She is also a part of an ERASMUS+ CBHE proposal (SPARK-ENT, 2026) supporting
entrepreneurship education.
Beyond the classroom, Yeshi serves as an Exam Committee Member and a member of the BBM Programme Committee at the Royal University of Bhutan, and has served as staff advisor to the Tarayana voluntary club at GCBS. Her work reflects a sustained commitment to connecting legal
and regulatory education with practical research and institutional service.
