Description
Ms. Sonam Dema is a Lecturer at Gedu College of Business Studies, Royal University
of Bhutan, where she has been serving since 2018. She holds an MBA in Finance from Gedu College of Business Studies, a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education from Samtse College of Education, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Sikkim Manipal University, India. She has also completed a Faculty Development Programme in Pedagogy and Research Methods at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
Her teaching focuses primarily on management-related modules, and she actively
contributes to academic administration as a member of the Examination Committee,
Moderation Committee, and BBM Programme Committee. Guided by a learner-centred teaching philosophy, she believes in fostering an inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to develop their potential, express themselves confidently, and appreciate diversity.
Ms. Sonam Dema’s research interests include higher education, pedagogy, mental
health, taxation, digital learning, and e-commerce governance. She has published
several research articles in national and international journals and is currently involved in research on “Institutional and Ecosystem Support for Medium and Large firms in Bhutan: The mediating role of firm capability in enhancing export readiness in the context of Gelephu Mindfulness City”.
