Course Features
Banking and financial services are at the heart of economic growth, innovation, and financial stability.
This programme is designed to deliver comprehensive knowledge, industry-relevant skills and abilities to equip students for the rapidly evolving world of banking, insurance, and risk management in modern financial sectors. The programme develops well-rounded financial professionals with an understanding of the interconnected fields of banking, insurance, and finance.
The curriculum develops graduates with expertise in banking, risk management, financial analysis, regulatory compliance, and investment management, while honing analytical abilities and managerial capabilities required for diverse career opportunities within commercial, retail and investment banking, insurance, treasury, and other financial service sectors.
The curriculum balances foundational theories and practices with technical and managerial skills required for key areas of banking, insurance and associated financial service operations, financial management, credit and risk analysis, treasury management, financial markets, and regulatory frameworks. The curriculum incorporates hands-on experience through professional internships, case studies, and projects, fostering practical skills and real-world application. The programme nurtures responsible decision-making, preparing students to navigate complex financial environments with integrity.
Local, regional and global perspectives and adaptability will be emphasised, ensuring graduates are equipped to understand and respond to rapidly changing international financial trends and challenges.

GCBS Football Teams Shine on Day 2 of BUSF Matches Against CST
Day 2 of the BUSF matches between Gedu College of Business Studies (GCBS) and the College of Science and Technology (CST) featured exciting football games for both boys and girls on 19th October 2025 at GCBS’s home ground. In the boys’ match, GCBS delivered an outstanding performance, defeating CST 3–0 and securing their qualification for the national level. The team showed strong coordination, strategic play, and solid defense throughout the game. The GCBS girls’ team also impressed with a convincing 4–0 victory over CST, displaying excellent teamwork, focus, and determination. Both matches reflected true sportsmanship and competitive spirit, marking another proud and successful day for GCBS in the BUSF matches.

Celebrating 17 Years of Excellence at GCBS
Celebrating 17 Years of Excellence at GCBS Gedu College of Business Studies proudly marked its 17th Foundation Day on 14th October 2025, a day filled with pride, reflection, and renewed purpose. The grand celebration was graced by our Chief Guest, Dasho Dr Lotay Tshering, whose inspiring keynote address reminded us of the values of dedication and service to the nation. We were further honored by the presence of the Vice Chancellor of the Royal University of Bhutan, Dasho Chewang Rinzin, along with Presidents from various Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) colleges, Executives, and distinguished officials who joined in commemorating this milestone. The event was filled with vibrant moments from the ceremonial Marchang, cultural dances, and student performances to alumni reflections and heartfelt speeches. The celebration also witnessed several special launches, including the unveiling of the college’s new rebranding, and the GCBS eCommerce Souvenir Website, symbolizing the college’s forward-looking vision and entrepreneurial spirit. Here’s to 17 years of nurturing leaders, dreamers, and changemakers and to many more years of inspiring excellence at GCBS!
