Dechen Wangdi

Dechen Wangdi is a Lecturer at Gedu College of Business Studies (GCBS), Royal University of Bhutan, and has taught at the college since 2009. Dechen holds an MBA in Marketing from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education from Samtse College of Education, Royal University of Bhutan.

Alongside teaching, Dechen has held leadership roles at the college, including Dean of Student Affairs, Programme Leader for the BBA and Coordinator for Marketing. Contributions to curriculum development include three Digital Marketing modules for the BMDC Programme and participation as an expert in designing the Human Values module for the Royal University of Bhutan. Current responsibilities include serving as module tutor for Marketing modules, guiding final-year students in their major research projects, and acting as Managing Marketing Partner at Mid Cloud Studio.

Research interests cover marketing, management and contemporary socio-economic issues. Dechen has worked on the Business Resource and Opportunity Inventory Studies, the Socio-Economic and Social Impact Assessment of the 570 MW Wangchhu Hydroelectric Project, and a feasibility study for introducing postgraduate programmes at GCBS, and secured a grant from the Bhutan Foundation to study the impact of nutrition on the Bhutanese economy. A co-authored paper on financial literacy and saving behaviour among university students was published in the International Journal of Innovative Science and Research Technology.
