1. Bachelor of Accounting

Accounting is the language of business and forms the cornerstone of various career paths. It plays a crucial role in every business and extends across various organizational functions. Why study Bachelor of Accounting?
The Bachelor of Accounting is offered to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, practices, and techniques. 2. Bachelor of Finance and Economics

Finance focuses on effective use of the company’s scarce resources maximizing the value of shareholders by managing the risks of the market, taking effective investment decisions, managing expenditure and steering the company towards profitability and sustainability. Economics with Finance helps to apply principles related to market dynamics and pricing mechanism and broader economic environment. It reviews the functioning of the economic system in business operations, and overall regulatory framework that supports businesses transformation.

5. Bachelor of Human Capital Management

Human Capital Management is a study discipline covering how talents are attracted, developed, motivated and workforce dividend is reaped for organizational success.

This programme is designed to produce a pool of leadership infused professional managers who can understand and manage both rational and emotional dimensions of human capital in any organization. The graduates are expected to build a career in corporate/business sectors, civil/government organizations, or non-profit/non-governmental organizations as Human Capital (HC)/Human Resource (HR) Officer, HC/HR Analyst, HC/HR Adviser/Consultant, HC/HR Managers, Administrators or Corporate Executives.

In a four-year period, students will learn certain crosscutting business management modules including Management Theory and Practice, Business Law and Governance, IT for Business, Business Economics, Business Statistics, and Business Research Methods. However, the focus will be on Human Capital specific core modules such as Principles of Human Capital Management, Leadership in Organizations, HR Planning, Recruiting and Onboarding, Training and Development, Performance and Compensation Management, Human Capital Analytics, HR Issues and Auditing, Leading Cross-Cultural Organizations, and Organizational Development. Additionally, students will learn practically through internships, which are a part of the programme package.

6. Bachelor of Marketing (Digital and Communication)

1. Who should apply for GCBS programmes? 2. When to Apply?

Don’t be excited on day one, take your time to decide the programme choice.

  • 1. Apply only after careful study of the programmes and fully convinced about your interest and career prospects (refer to the programme profile). Once you are sure of your eligibility and interest, you may click the “Agreebutton and proceed to apply for the Programme Category of your choice.
  • 2. Be informed that once applied, you will not be able to change the programme category.
  • 3. The last date of online registration is on 15 March 2024.
    • 3. What are the CONDITIONS?
      • a. You can choose ONLY ONE Programme Category: Category A OR Category B.
        • i. Category A : Bachelor of Accounting/ Bachelor of Business Intelligence/ Bachelor of Finance and Economics
        • ii. Category B: Bachelor of Business Management/ Bachelor of Human Capital Management/ Bachelor of Marketing (Digital & Communication)
      • b. You must select/tick the appropriate Source of Funding option/s:
        • “Higher-Education Grant (Government Scholarship)”
        • “Self-Financed”
      • c. If you wish to apply as a Self-financed student, you must select “Self-financed” in addition to “Higher-Education Grant (Government Scholarship)” under the Source of Funding. If you do not select the “Self-Financed” option, you will not be registered for seats available under the self-financed programmes.
      • d. Ensure your details are filled in correctly as per the form. Once you have provided your information, make sure that your phone number stays active during the admission process. The Admission Team of GCBS will not be liable for any incorrect information provided by you.
      • e. How do I know that my application has been submitted? You will receive notification for successful submission of application and should be able to see your application number online.

      Admission Process

      • a. You will be shortlisted for GCBS Entrance Test (GET) based on the merit ranking of Ability Rating Points of Class XII marks according to the admission criteria announced: https://www.rub.edu.bt/index.php/admission-criteria-and-tuition-fee-for-the-academic-year-2024/
      • Programme Category and No. of Students to be Shortlisted
        • Programme Category A = At least 700 students
        • Programme Category B = At least 400 students
        GCBS do not expect you to have studied the subjects before the Programme.

      • b. The GET will be administered online on 21 April 2024, and it will comprise a Personal statement, Personality trait and Aptitude.
        • i. Personal Statement
          • This is an opportunity for prospective students to express motivation for applying to the programme/s. The applicant may write personal statements for two programmes, or choose to write for all three programmes if you wish to apply for either of three programmes. Each statement can be a maximum of 250 words.
          • If Personal Statement is not written for specific programme/s, your application will not be considered for those programme/s for which you have NOT submitted the personal statement.
      What GCBS is looking for in the
        Personal Statement for each programme?
        Personal Statement will be used for checking your enthusiasm and suitability for the degree programmes offered at GCBS. Every applicant is unique, and you are expected to show what makes you a strong candidate in your personal statement.

    GCBS expects the following from the potential applicants:
    • Bright with strong academic achievements
    • Excited by, and have strong potential/curiosity for, analytical problem solving
    • Curious to use selected programme/s to explore evolving challenges in commercial, policy or other contexts
    • Passionate to learn how to use cutting-edge technique to examine and solve the select programme related questions
    • Motivated and engaged learner who works well independently as well with others, with strong communication skills.
    • You are expected to convince the College that you have evidence/apt that meets these criteria in your personal statement.
    • ii. Personality Trait The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) will be used to determine personality types and match a student’s interest with their preferred programme category.
    • iii. Aptitude Test This will test your ability/competence required for the business programmes focused in Language, Quantitative aptitude, Logical reasoning, and awareness of global affairs.

    For programmes under each Category, the potential candidates will be merit ranked based on the Ability rating points (60%) and GET result (40%). Selection will be based on the following weightage on 2-3 May 2024.
    • 60% of Ability Rating Points
    • 10% Personal Statement
    • 10% Personality Trait Test
    • 20% Aptitude Test
    The prospective students will be contacted over phone by the GCBS admission team and offered a place on the programme (conditional). The applicant must confirm their acceptance when called. Thus, all applicants must have made prior decisions and alternative options.
    GCBS do not expect you to have studied the subjects before the Programme.

    Confirmation of Admission in the Programme

    After confirmation of acceptance to the offer, to guarantee a place on the programme, applicants must pay confirmation fee / security deposit. :
    • a. Security deposit of Nu.7500 must be paid within 2 weeks (17 May 2024), failing to which seat will be offered to the next standby applicant/s.
    • b. The security deposit shall not be refunded if the candidate does not report to the college.
    • c.For those students, who report to the college, the amount will be retained by the college as a Security Deposit until their graduation (terms & conditions apply).
