
CENTRE FOR BUSINESS RESEARCH AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT (BUSINESS INCUBATION CENTRE)
The Centre for Business Research and Entrepreneurship Development (CBRED) was established with the vision to be the Centre of Excellence in facilitating sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship. The centre, therefore, mandates to the creation of a vibrant and dynamic entrepreneurial environment
with research culture, publications, linkages and promotion of
entrepreneurship. Additionally, it was established with the purpose of justifying the thoughtful insights of His Majesty the 5th king to create vibrant entrepreneurial culture and self-reliance and self-sufficiency economy
through entrepreneurship.
Meanwhile, the centre also caters for services that are offered to the incubatees to launch and scale up the business. Liaising with external mentors, networking pursuit with potential investors, creation of avenues for funding and accessibility to the financial support services, furnished office space and equipment and other administrative services are offered.
The CBRED is funded and supported by the Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship(DoEE), Entrepreneurship Promotion Division (EPD), Ministry of Labour and Human Resources, Royal Government of Bhutan through start-ups and CSI flagship program and Encore EU funded projects.
As of today, the centre has signed an agreement with 3 teams to provide the services that are being offered. They are also the first batch of incubatees that the centre has signed. They were selected through the Business Idea Competition that was held during the inauguration of the Business Incubation Centre.
The three teams are:
1. Nge-Chim
2. Just Organic
3. Sodhen Hydroponics

All the teams have actualized the way forward to do their business and have advanced from the ideation stage through their constant training and mentorship with external agencies that were identified by the centre.
As of today, the centre has 4 external and 8 internal mentors who will provide mentorship to the upcoming incubatees for developing and scaling up the business ideas. The centre will be incubating the business ideas for the tenure of 6 months and extendable to 1 year based on the need for launching the business.

Mr.Dawala is a faculty in Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Gedu College of Business Studies (GCBS). He has an MBA (Marketing) from GCBS and PgDHE from Samtse College of Education, Royal University of Bhutan. Hid did his BA in English & Geography from Sherubtse College, Kanglung, Bhutan. His area of interest lies in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. He also has a passion for leadership and management subjects (soft skills). In 2021, he conducted 15-day training on Basic Entrepreneurship Development for AMTC Trainees, Paro; in 2014, he facilitated training for emerging local entrepreneurs of Bhutan at GCBS; in 2015, conducted a training workshop for local leaders of Punakha district on Leadership and Communication Skills; and in 2016, he resourced training on Office Management and Communication Skills for the non-teaching staffs of College of Natural Studies, Lobesa, Wangdue Phodrang; and in 2019 conducted training on Leadership and Communication Skills for Druk Ralung Monastery, Kabisa, Thimphu. Currently, he teaches Marketing and Entrepreneurship modules for undergraduate students. He has been with GCBS for the last 12 as a faculty

Mr.Tenzin Rabgay has been serving as a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Corporate Governance at Gedu College of Business Studies since 2011. He is the Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Development Centre, and a member of College Research Committee. He is also a member of Accounting and Commerce Subject Committee of the Royal Education Council. Apart from teaching, he actively engages in research, consulting, and training services. His research and training interest and credibility are in the area of entrepreneurship, design thinking, lean startup, human resource management, and corporate governance. Royal Civil Service Commission, Ministry of Labour and Human Resources, Druk Holing and Investments, Institute for Management Studies, Rural Enterprise Development Corporation Limited, and IBest Training Institute are some of the organizations with whom Mr. Tenzin has been engaging in training and consulting projects.

Mrs.Kinley Yangdon is a lecturer at Gedu College of Business studies. She has been in college since 2011. She pursued her Master in Business Administration (Innovation & Entrepreneurship) from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune (2016),
PGCHE from Samtse College of Education (2014) and also attended the University Teaching Programme (UTP) at Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam. Besides teaching, she is involved in training related to entrepreneurship within and outside the Royal University of Bhutan. She also contributed to writing classes XI and XII Business and Entrepreneurship amongst others. Her research interest is in the field of entrepreneurship, women, and Education. Currently, she is also serving as the coordinator for Innopreneur Club.

Mr.Amrit Sharma is an associate lecturer in the Faculty of Finance at Gedu College of Business Studies, Royal University of Bhutan. Mr. Amrit has an industrial experience of over 7 years. He worked in Travel & Tourism industry for 5 years and in the commercial division of Bhutan Airlines for two and half years prior to joining this college. He has been teaching Finance Modules with this college since Fall Semester, 2018. His research interests are in the areas of Finance, Business Management, Tourism, and Sustainable Development.
