GCBS Entrance Test Announcement

Information for Candidates

    Kindly take note of the following information before you appear for your GET.

    a. Technical Requirements:

    1. You will be provided a desktop or a laptop computer connected to the Internet. You need to access an online Moodle portal called VLE using the credentials provided at the Test centers.
    2. You are required to produce your original CID while entering the test rooms. If you are not issued with a CID, you need to produce your Admit Card (Class 12 Entry Card). You WILL NOT be allowed to enter the test hall without the aforementioned proof of identification.  
    3. You are allowed to carry a calculator and pen/pencil as there are simple mathematical equations to be solved, although the answers are going to be MCQ. You will be provided with a blank sheet of A4 size paper by the test Manager/Invigilator. However, you are NOT ALLOWED to carry mobile phone, smartwatch, any other Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), or any notes or formulas inside the test rooms.

      b. Time Management:

      1. Your reporting time to the test centers is at 9:00 a.m. and the writing will start from 9:30 a.m. sharp and the test will terminate automatically at exactly 12:00 p.m. 
      2. If you arrive after 30 minutes of the test time, you will not be allowed to enter the test room.
      3. Manage your time effectively during the test.
      4. REMEMBER! If you want to apply for the three programmes, you have to write Personal Statements for all the three. If you just write for one programme, your application will be considered only for that programme. You may write a maximum of 250 words for each Personal Statement.
      5. The duration of the GET is inclusive of the number of Personal Statements that you may write.
      6. The candidates are not allowed for restroom breaks, however, you may exit the exam hall at any time and will not be allowed back into the test rooms.

      c. Honest and Integrity:

      1. As prospective students of GCBS, you are expected to maintain academic honesty and integrity throughout the test. DO NOT engage in any form of cheating, plagiarism, or any unauthorized collaboration. You may lose your privilege should you disrespect the decorum.
      2. You are NOT ALLOWED to take any other unauthorized materials in the test rooms other than those specified under section a (2&3). Any other materials that may aid in answering the questions or help in gaining advantages over others shall be deemed as the use of unfair means and have their candidacy revoked.
      3. Avoid accessing unauthorized websites, notes, or other materials during the exam. If found, clause (2) of this section shall be applied.

      d. Follow Instructions:

      1. Carefully read and follow all the instructions provided for the test, including how to navigate the test platform, respond to different question types, and seek assistance if necessary (only for technical support). 
      2. The College shall not be responsible should you fail to follow the instructions. 
      3. Have patience if the Internet is slow. Hastily clicking and refreshing may result in the loss of information, 

      e. Technical Support:

      1. Contact the designated invigilator should you encounter any technical problems.

      f. Absence from the Test

      1. If you do not show up during the time of the test to the venue that you have chosen, then your candidacy shall not be considered in GCBS.
      2. Test Managers/Invigilators shall take note of the absentees and submit them to GCBS.
      3. If you arrive after 30 minutes of the commencement of the test, you will not be allowed to appear the test and considered absent.

      Checklist for the GCBS Entrance Test (GET):

      1. Original copy of citizenship identification card (CID) or Class 12 Admit Card (if CID number is not reflected against your name in the list published earlier).
      2. Calculator (not allowed to use phones or smartwatches)
      3. Pen/pencil

      Reminder:

      1. Reporting time: 9:00 a.m. on April 21, 2024 to the respective test centers.
      2. Test duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes
      3. Candidates WILL NOT be allowed into the test rooms after 10:00 a.m. (30 minutes after test commencement)
