A humble Investiture Ceremony to mark the appointment of Mr. Dalston Pung as President and Mr. Samten Jamtsho as Deputy President, was held with great pride and dignity in the college conference hall on March 23, 2023. The Administrative Officer welcomed the gathering. He said “The ceremony today signifies the reliance and confidence that the college consigns in the newly invested Presidents. Donning the mantle of accountability, we are confident that the duo Presidents shall pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities”. “It is indeed historic in the history of GCBS” he added.
The ceremony was held with great zeal and enthusiasm in presence of the faculty and administrative staff of the college. It was commenced with the lighting of butter lamps. Mr. Dalston, President in his address mentioned that he is greatly humbled by the positive gesture of the gathering in the ceremony hall and conveyed heartfelt appreciation to all the staff of the college. He also mentioned that he is optimistic to take the college to greater heights to find a place at the international level of recognition within the span of his term.
At the GCBS Staff Forum, Mr. Dhanapati, Lecturer mentioned that “This is the most precious moment in the history of GCBS”.
Similarly, Mr. Sonam Phuntsho, Associate Lecturer wrote, “It is indeed a surreal moment for every GCBS family. The vision and principles of transformation are infallible and unquestionable. The change or move will definitely inspire us and give us a lasting impetus to work even harder to achieve our shared goals”. The function concluded with the offering of Tashi Delek Khadar to the newly appointed Presidents.
